WHIRC Renews Designation as a “TMA Five Diamond Monitoring Center”

TMA Five Diamond Monitoring Center logoWH International Response Center (WHIRC) recently renewed the prestigious “TMA Five Diamond Monitoring Center” designation from The Monitoring Association (TMA) for the 18th straight year. WHIRC first earned the “Five Diamond” designation in 2004. It is granted annually to monitoring centers that satisfy all of the requirements of the “five points of excellence.” These are:

  • Commitment to ongoing job-related education and testing by having 100% of its monitoring center operators certified using the TMA online training series on industry best practices.
  • Commitment to random inspections and quality criteria standards by a nationally recognized testing laboratory such as FM Approvals, Intertek/ETL and UL.
  • Commitment to raising the industry standards through TMA membership and participation in its activities.
  • Commitment to reducing false dispatches.
  • Commitment to the highest levels of customer service.

The TMA Five Diamond designation means that a monitoring company has demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of responsibility to their businesses and customers through the investment of time, money and commitment to quality operator training.

There are approximately 2,700 monitoring centers in the United States that communicate and interact with police, fire and emergency services agencies. Fewer than 200 have achieved the Five Diamond designation, setting these companies apart.

Meet your account representatives!

Meet the WHIRC account representatives, Cody and Rick! They are an essential part of our business as they build strong relationships with each and every one of our dealers and customize a monitoring solution specific to their needs. They attend industry events and trainings to discuss options to assist dealers with whatever their individual needs might be.

Rick StevensRick has been with WHIRC for 27 years and enjoys being a part of the team. He keeps in touch with the manufacturers to stay up to date on new products and technology and passes that information on to our dealers.

“Rick does a great job of building relationships and facilitating the needs of the dealers to ensure the best customer service,” said WHIRC Business Manager Ashley Raisanen.

“With the 3G sunset, we continue to help support and inform dealers of what is available and where they are with the process,” Rick said. “We meet with the dealers and prospects in person to work on building and keeping up on our relationships.”

Cody has been with WHIRC for four years and is eager to meet the needs of the dealers and customers we serve. He shares the latest news and offerings with current dealers and is also responsible for looking for new business opportunities along the way.

Cody Decker“Cody brings WHIRC innovative ideas of alarm monitoring,” Raisanen said. “He finds different options to offer new services to our dealers and their customers.”

The best part of the job, Cody says, is that every day is different, and he gets to meet lots of great people!

“I have made many connections through work with people that I now consider friends,” Cody said. “There are so many good people in the security industry with a lot of similarities to myself.”

WHIRC is proud of our account representatives and their commitment to helping our dealers with whatever monitoring solutions they need. Let us know if you are looking at expanding your customers solutions. Contact us at (800) 858-7811.

Enhancing network reliability

Enhancing network reliability

Happy New Year! As part of our ongoing commitment to provide you the best service, WHIRC is committed to enhancing network reliability for you and your customers. This includes implementing increased redundancy for alarm traffic and security of customer data. To meet this goal, we installed and migrated to enhanced networking equipment, providing an even more robust WHIRC network.

WHIRC purchased our own block of IP Addresses from the national database. Traditionally, IP addresses that are programmed into a customer’s alarm panel would be bound to a specific internet service provider (ISP). Owning our own IP Addresses significantly reduces the impact of outages, fiber cuts, and ISP maintenance, by allowing WHIRC to adjust alarm traffic flow in real time.  Another benefit is seamless redundancy between WHIRC and our Cloud Monitoring Solution.

What does this mean for WHIRC dealers? As new panel connections come online, the new IP address will need to be used. Existing panels that are programmed with old IP addresses will not be immediately impacted by this change. Updates to the existing panels can be made over the next 18 months. WHIRC looks forward to working with you to ensure your customers security and connectivity meets their expectations.
